Hey
guys. Here is something about the gray stuff in between my ears! As some of you
may already know, I am president of Raging Stallion Studios where I produce and
direct some of the hottest male videos around. I actually have another side to
me--a very different side--that most people never see. While a kid growing
up on the beaches of Florida, I developed a keen interest in history. This interest
became a passion as I moved through high school and on to college. As an undergraduate
at Stetson University, I majored in German/Early Modern European history with
the intention of heading off to law school. One of my professors came up to me
in my junior year and convinced me to go into academia and become a scholar. I
liked the idea--especially since I was never very keen on studying the law. I
enrolled in Graduate School at the University of Florida in Gainesville. At the
same time I changed my area of specialization to Colonial Latin American History--specifically
focusing on Panama. I received my Masters and then my Ph.D. in four years. I published
a number of articles in scholarly journals and my dissertation became a major
book published by the University of New Mexico Press. It is still available and
is entitled "Imperial Panama: Commerce and Conflict in Isthmian America,
1500-1800." I also authored a short book on the Panama Canal that was published
in Amsterdam ("Het Panamakanal") In addition to my specialization on
Panama, I undertook the study of archaeology with a focus on the ancient Maya.
After moving to San Francisco to escape the back woods of the rural south,
I spent time as a post-doc in the anthropology department of the University of
California, Berkeley. I returned to Florida for a few years to teach, but I decided
that I had to return to San Francisco. Unfortunately, this meant I had to give
up my promising academic career to live in the city of my dreams. Somehow--it
is a very long story that demonstrates the role chance plays in everyone's lives--I
was hired as an accountant in San Francisco's financial district. In 1999, after
performing in and directing videos for a local studio, J.D.Slater and I founded
Raging Stallion Studios where I am president, director, and producer. |
